Thanks Kye. A mix of ways: I start with some knowledge gathered from education, career, and reading and growing several gardens. So some I already know, or can guess at the plant family which gives me somewhere to begin looking in books and online. And I’ve very recently downloaded an app which seems promising (I tried one before that was so off the mark!). There’s a link below - unfortunately it doesn’t help with mosses, fungi or I would imagine lichen. There may be others! https://identify.plantnet.org/
