Thank you for taking us on your walk, Michela, I felt as if I was there for every step. And the photos are beautiful. I love macro, it's like stepping into another universe, and you've brought a wonderfully detailed world to our eyes.
Thanks Jo., I’m glad you enjoyed this. Yes, I feel like it’s a gateway to another world and this week I’m writing about the beauty of the apparently mundane. More macro promised!
Lovely to hear from you Diana, and thank you. Until recently I’ve tended to keep these as an index shot lest I forget where, but am coming to recognise through writing here that they have a value in providing context. And I guess they are encouragement to stop and look closely. It’s always the small things…
I have purchased your book, but I will be travelling until the 8th of May. Can you please send it to me later so it arrives when I'm back home in case it needs to be signed? Alternatively, I can send you a direct message. I'm thrilled about the book! I'm working on a new blog post about close-up walls in Athens, which I believe you will enjoy. I took them on my iPhone! But I have also used an analogue camera to take close-up shots for the past few months. I need to develop them once I'm back to see how they turned out. What type of camera and lens do you use?
Hello Tugba, yes of course I can do that, thanks for buying a copy of A New Topography. Walls sound kinder on the back and knees than ground level photography! The images in the book are from a Sony Rx100 Mk7 but I’ve recently been using my old Canon 6D with 100mm lens which used to be my default for images of water.

Fabulous photos.
Thank you, I’m glad that you enjoyed seeing them.
Love seeing the context shot at the end, it really shows how skillful you are at coaxing magic out of the landscape.

Well done 🙏🏼 (from a woman who sings daily and swims often with the Salish Sea). Your test Book looks Delish!
Thank you Christine, I’m looking forward to making more.
