Delighted to hear you speak about Nan Shepherd's book on the voice-over, Michela. I've read The Living Mountain a number of times now and each time it gives more. And thank you for commenting on my post which recommends this book to all who enjoy place and nature. https://yasminchopin.substack.com/p/the-living-mountain-by-nan-shepherd
Your recording also reminds me to find more moments of joy in the sounds of nature.
Thank you Yasmin. It was good to see your post in my inbox, as it will encourage me to read Nan’s book once again. I’ve rooted a little further here, so it will be interesting to see what it inspires this time around.
That’s it isn’t it! A place of ease, I need to read that book again. I find it so deeply comforting to write what I do and others use the word ‘soothing’ which is akin to ease I guess. Important work we do, I reckon Michela 😘
Thanks Lynne. I wonder what I might find if I read it a third time? We all need opportunities to rebalance, and I think John Muir’s words say it well too.
Lots of wisdom here, dear Michela! I've put my own creativity in the drawer, but I'm slowly working on reclaiming it - and myself in the process. Love the photos too, especially the wonderful perspective and blur in the first one xx
Thank you, kind Ramona. I'm glad to hear that you are easing open the drawer. It was such a comfort to read those words from Nan - at times we seem to need someone to say, "It's okay!". I'm glad you like the first photo - it didn't make it into last week's letter, but it called me back.

Beautifully written and a gentle reminder of what we all or at least most of us search for ❤️
Thank you Vanessa. I wish you success with your own search.

Beautiful words and images as always Michela.
Thanks Gill, always good to hear from you. Apologies - I am behind with my reading. 🐌
Thanks Michela. There are so many interesting things to read on Substack and not enough hours in the day! I am behind with my reading too 🙂
Thank you Michela - this is very inspiring!
I’m glad you enjoyed it Amy, thanks for letting me know.
