Thanks Krista. Somewhat depressingly - they are specially constructed shooting positions on grouse moors. In this case sunken into the ground. It’s not my idea of sport.
Wonderful writing as always Michella. Paired with your images I’m immediately transported in my mind’s eye to the Scottish wilderness. Lovely. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Jon, I’m glad you enjoyed reading. Some rare ‘straight’ photos from me, phone snaps taken initially for someone who didn’t come along, but it’s nice to share them here.
As always, your post is jam-packed full of inspirational content and ideas that I find stimulating to my creative thought process. I really like your images of the Scottish 'wilderness', and am reminded of when I took the train from Inverness to Thurso. 100 miles of meandering railway track, three and a half hours of awesome scenic vistas.
Beautiful. I feel like I am there, in Scotland's beauty. A place where I want to discover more of.
Thank you. Hopefully I can be your guide 🙂 and share this place with you
Always a joy and inspiration to read! I have to ask though, what are grouse butts? My curiosity is piqued!

Hi, Michela.

Thankyou.
David.
Thank you David. That’s a journey I have yet to make - and perhaps the train is the way to do it. I hadn’t thought of that, thanks for the idea.
