Gosh, every time I visit your substack I feel something tug at me to come home. (My family are from the south-west, but it feels like home nonetheless). I'm so happy you're here. x

Oh wow Michela. What a lovely coastline!! I watched the video and dreamed of visiting!!!

You’d love it Jon. I can recommend the stretch north from Forvie too.

Forvie is the only place I have been to up there. No surprise there I suppose but I must try and leave the west for a couple of visits and shoot the east coast

There’s a wonderful stretch north of Cruden Bay—Longhaven Cliffs, pink granite.

That length of coastline used to be a favourite (Portsoy being a particular joy). Thank you for nudging some lovely memories into the foreground with your string of names.

Looking forward to your Pennan visit!

It’s good to know that this has brought back fond memories for you. It’s been such a cold week this year, not conducive at all to lingering, which was one of the pleasures of my stay. Hopefully June will be better!

Wonderful to hear the cuckoo! I haven’t heard one for several years…

It’s such an evocative sound. I love hearing them, while feeling for the poor pipits that become substitute parents.
