Thank you. It was just beginning to move its antennae, so hopefully it warmed up in the sun.

Even the spiders seem to be super busy in this season. Beautiful images and words.

Thanks Lisa. Don’t they? Perhaps they are compensating for the dry summer—I’d usually expect to see more in August—or maybe it’s only now that conditions highlight their weaving. I’m sure they must be there all the time! I have taken too many photos of their creations this week, and these are the ones I need to review for next time, along with the mist. All the webs made me think of washing put out to dry!

Yes, the moisture does highlight them outside. I've been ushering spiders out of our house and clearing webs. I don't mind one or two, but it's getting ridiculous!

Looks like a carder bee to me too- colour faded a bit with age. Beautiful photos. We haven't had our first frost here yet- but I think it will be soon. It was distinctly cool this morning.

Thanks Linda, I was hoping you would help me out. We’d had rain overnight so it must have been a wet miserable time for the poor thing to be outside the nest.

completely agree about August being so long and September already galloping by. Beautiful, breath-slowing writing and love the experiments on paper,
