Thanks Lisa. Don’t they? Perhaps they are compensating for the dry summer—I’d usually expect to see more in August—or maybe it’s only now that conditions highlight their weaving. I’m sure they must be there all the time! I have taken too many photos of their creations this week, and these are the ones I need to review for next time, along with the mist. All the webs made me think of washing put out to dry!
Yes, the moisture does highlight them outside. I've been ushering spiders out of our house and clearing webs. I don't mind one or two, but it's getting ridiculous!
Looks like a carder bee to me too- colour faded a bit with age. Beautiful photos. We haven't had our first frost here yet- but I think it will be soon. It was distinctly cool this morning.
Thanks Linda, I was hoping you would help me out. We’d had rain overnight so it must have been a wet miserable time for the poor thing to be outside the nest.
Thanks so much Ling. Ah, but you have an exciting weekend ahead! I’m so looking forward to seeing what you exhibit, sadly not in person but I shall be there in spirit.
Stunning 🤩
Thank you 🙏
These images are absolutely stunning. Thank you always for your lovely letters!
I’m so glad to be able to share the joy of finding these treasures with you. Thanks Manuela!
Lovely time of year with great captures. Poor little bee….
Thank you. It was just beginning to move its antennae, so hopefully it warmed up in the sun.
Your photography is stunning.
Thanks Susanna, I love finding and sharing these intimates of nature.
Your words are beautiful. Your photos are stunning. You are a gift. I am grateful for you.
Thank you Maurice. In return I am grateful for your kind words.
Even the spiders seem to be super busy in this season. Beautiful images and words.

Those lovely autumnal tones coming in. 🧡
Thanks Jo, it’s been a good week to set the alarm a little earlier.
It looks like a faded carder bee to me too.
All these photos are beautiful, the light is wonderful in them
Thanks Juliet. We do get some special light here as the days shorten.

Beautiful pictures, evocative words, a treat, as always. Wish I was in Scotland!

completely agree about August being so long and September already galloping by. Beautiful, breath-slowing writing and love the experiments on paper,
Thanks Jan. I really appreciate your kind words as the words seem more elusive recently.
Nice work, Michela!
Thanks Robin!
Please stop by Wildlands and say hello!
I will!
